Father, 2 children killed in Negros Occidental machete attack
A father and his two children were hacked to death inside their home in Negros Occidental's La Castellana town on Sunday morning.
Killed were 39-year-old Luis Solis, his 11-year-old son Marcelino, and 6-year-old daughter Lady Loisa.
Solis' partner Jennifer Caratayco, 27, and their 13-year-old eldest son - although wounded - survived the attack.
Local police chief Chief Inspector Irma Teoxon said that Solis was going about his business when his cousin, 23-year-old Richard Paquera, reportedly attacked him with a bolo or jungle knife.
Solis tried to dodge Paquera's knife thrusts and get away, but the suspect was said to have chased him all the way home.
Paquera then allegedly attacked everyone he found in the home. Solis and his two children died on the spot, while his partner and the son sustained cuts in the arms.
"Paquera left the crime scene and went home. He took a shower then voluntarily surrendered to the police," Teoxon said.
Investigators believe that the attack was over a property dispute. — DVM/KVD, GMA News
