About 300 families lose homes in Puerto Princesa fire

Almost 300 families have lost their homes as fire broke out in Puerto Princesa, Palawan, a report on Unang Balita said on Monday.

According to the report, huge flames scattered rapidly as the houses were very close to each other.

The firefighters also had a hard time responding because of the narrow pathways.

A group of residents have helped extinguish the fire using buckets of water.

The local government of Puerto Princesa has noted around 280 houses have been destroyed by the fire while 300 families have lost their homes.

The barangay hall, basketball court, and health center were used as evacuation centers for the affected residents.

The cause of the fire was still undetermined as of posting time. —Akari Nakano/KG, GMA News
