Two fishermen from Alabat town in Quezon province have been reported missing since September 11, local police said Thursday.

Last Wednesday, a certain Alix Durante, 59, told the Alabat Municipal Police Station that one of the two missing fishermen is his nephew, Ronnie Durante Valenzuela, 44, and identified the other one as Renante Custodio, 42, the local police said.

Authorities quoted Durante as saying that the two set out to sea to fish at about 10 a.m. on September 11, Monday.

An initial investigation showed that the two were last seen off Barangay Pambuhan in neighboring Perez town on board their "blue with red stripe" motorized banca.

Ronnie was seen wearing green sweatshirt, shorts, and slippers; while Renante was wearing yellow sweatshirt, pink leggings, and slippers.

Alabat police are gathering information on the circumstances of the disappearance of the fishermen.

Also, the local police are asking residents to inform Alabat authorities on any information regarding  the whereabouts of the two, through mobile phone number 09483868959. —Peewee Bacuño/LBG, GMA News
