19-year-old locked up in Malolos over alleged rape of stepsister

Police have arrested a 19-year-old for allegedly raping his stepsister in her own room in Malolos, Bulacan.

The victim identified as “Joan” (not her real name) narrated that she was about to sleep when her stepbrother barged into her room and raped her, according to a report by Vonne Aquino on Unang Balita on Friday.

The victim also said she tried to call her mother for help but the suspect covered her mouth and took her mobile phone after raping her.

“Humingi po ako ng tulong sa mama ko...sumisigaw po ako, tinatakpan niya po 'yung bunganga ko,” she said.

According to the suspect, his crime may have been brought about by his drunkenness. Both the suspect and the victim were reportedly under the influence of alcohol.

He said he had sought permission from Joan’s sibling to sleep over because his father, her mother’s live-in partner, was not at their house.

The suspect defended himself when he said: “Pero ginusto, gusto niya rin naman po tapos bigla na lang siyang sumigaw.”
