Cop, minor, 5 others injured during Nueva Ecija shooting

At least seven individuals were injured, among them a police officer, when an unspecified number of gunmen opened fire at a pick-up in Nueva Ecija, GMA 7 news program "24 Oras Weekend" reported on Sunday.

The police officer, identified as Police Officer III Christopher Sambrano Delfin,  and four companions were driving along in Barangay Mambarao last Saturday when the gunmen opened fire at around 7 p.m.

The police officer returned fire, and the armed men fled the scene.

Aside form the individuals in the truck, two barangay residents, including a minor, were also injured in the shooting.

Wounded along with Delfin were:

• Pedro Jay Sambrano Delfin
• Raymundo Delfin
• Reynold Fernando Hernandez
• Eric Pardo
• Rommel Ignacio
• John Orlan Marquez
