Cops seize P250k worth of illegal logs, nab 4 people in Catanduanes

Police have seized P250,000 worth of illegal logs and arrested four people in the town of Virac in Catanduanes province.

A report on "Unang Balita" on Thursday said that elements of the Virac police, armed with a search warrant, raided a suspected depot of illegal lumber and caught four people in the act of handling illegally-cut logs.  

The suspects, who were caught inside their encampment in Barangay Buyo, declined to make comments during the raid and refused to face the media.  

Barangay Buyo's chairman said that illegal loggers in the area have been in operation for a long time. —LBG, GMA News
