Minor raped by suitor in Pangasinan

A 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her suitor last week in Tayug, Pangasinan, according to a 24 Oras report by stringer Alfie Tulagan on Thursday.

Authorities arrested the suspect, Emilio Fabro, a farmer, on Wednesday, the report said.

The suspect allegedly went to the house of the Grade 5 victim last week and urged her to drink alcohol.

"Naaktuhan kasi nung bayaw nung biktima na nakapatong na 'yung suspek doon sa babae habang 'yung babae [ay] lasing na, so caught on the act," said Senior Inspector Herminio Olivarez, deputy chief of police.

Fabro denied that he tried raping the teenager. He, however, admitted that he was courting the girl.

"Wala naman akong kasalanan, wala naman akong ginawa," he said.

Meanwhile, the Grade 5 student will undergo medical examination, the report said.

Police already filed a rape complaint against the 27-year-old suspect.

"Sa ngayon po, nai-file na po natin 'yung kaso. Nag-umpisa na po pre-trial nila, nai-file natin na kaso ay rape. Bahala na po korte," Olivarez said. —Anna Felicia Bajo/KBK, GMA News
