15-year-old raped, murdered in Cavite cemetery

The battered body of a 15-year-old girl was found in a cemetery in Cavite City, according to a 24 Oras report by Marisol Abdurahman said Sunday.

The victim, Shaynadyn Alejo, was found in the space between a tomb and a mausoleum, her lower body undressed. She had been raped and bludgeoned, and her body bore bite marks.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested as he was the last person seen with the victim.

"Niyaya niya 'yung victim sa lugar tapos may plano na nga siyang gawin, pumalag 'yung biktima... napalo niya," said Police Officer 2 Armangel Genuino.

The suspect admitted that he had raped Alejo, but claimed that he was not alone in hitting her with an improvised candle holder.

The police, however, cleared the other man named by the 17-year-old suspect.

"Kung dalawa 'yung suspek, siguro dapat bubuhatin eh hindi. 'Yun kasing mga blood stain doon, eh may mga indication talaga na hinila lang 'yung biktima," Genuino said.
