The 59-year-old Imus, Cavite resident, who was said to have been deliberately run-over by a tricycle driver, was desperately fighting for his life, the victim's wife told GMA 7 news program "24 Oras" on Monday.

Dana added that she had attempted to speak with her husband, and asked him to keep fighting for his life.

Rolando Gonzales, who was a utility man in a public school, had a heated argument with the son of suspect Eric Asahan.

Asahan then allegedly ran over Gonzales with a tricycle. Not satisfied, the suspect then supposedly rained blows on his victim.

Police investigators were still searching for Asahan, who faced a frustrated murder case.

So most likely, nandito lang din po," said Imus police chief Superintendent Ronan Claravall.

Meanwhile, Dana asked the suspect to surrender himself.

— Anna Felicia Bajo/DVM, GMA News
