10 dead in Palawan town due to diarrhea

Ten people have died due to severe dehydration in Balabac town in Palawan, where a diarrhea outbreak has been declared.

An Unang Balita report on Tuesday said an 11-month baby was among the fatalities.

The report said several residents of Balabac town were hit by diarrhea because their water source has been contaminated.

Earlier reports said that nearly 200 people have been treated for diarrhea symptoms in hospital and health clinics in the town as of last week.

Health officers are advising residents to boil their drinking water. —ALG/RSJ, GMA News
