Missing Uber driver found dead in quarry site

The missing driver of a Transport Network Vehicle Service was found dead in a quarry site in Barangay Salawag, Dasmariñas in Cavite province on Tuesday evening, GMA News' Susan Enriquez reported on "Saksi."

Uber driver Christopher Namoca, 32, was identified by his wife.

Christopher was last seen alive last Feb. 2 when he took out a Uber unit but he did not make it home on that day. But his wife was still able to speak with last Feb. 3 and 4.

However, he could no longer be reached by Feb. 5.

On Tuesday, a certain Jimmy Salac went to the Salawag barangay hall said a man was buried at the quarry site.

Salac also pointed out the improvised deep well where Christopher was buried.

Christopher's wife went to the police with the information and work to retrieve the remains ensued.

The police, however, expressed doubt on Salac's motive, saying that he could have been involved in the crime.

"We received information from the barangay of Salawag that a certain Jimmy Salac informed them na... yoong allegedly bangkay," said Dasmariñas City Component Police Station Chief Supt. Fernando Ortega.

The police also said a certain Benedict Saramines was also allegedly involved in two cases of murder.

Salac, meanwhile, has disappeared.

The incident came a few months after Grab driver Gerardo Maquidato, who was known as a good Samaritan for giving an ill passenger a free ride, was reported missing then was found dead. — Margaret Claire Layug/BAP, GMA News
