2 suspected carjackers killed in Bulacan shootout
Two suspected carjackers were killed in a clash with lawmen in a town in Bulacan before dawn on Saturday, police said.
Quoting a police official, Super Radyo dzBB's Manny Vargas said that the shootout occurred in Barangay Santa Cruz in Santa Maria town at about 4:30 a.m.
Acting on information from the Highway Patrol Group (HPG) Region 3 about a suspicious silver Toyota Vios, Bulacan police personnel spotted a car without a plate number, or conduction sticker.
HPG-3 head Superintendent Sam Belmonte told dzBB that the suspected stolen car was first spotted on Friday evening in San Jose del Monte City but it slipped away, prompting the patrol group to ask assistance from the Bulacan police.
Bulacan cops intercepted the suspicious car in Sta. Maria town, but the suspects resisted apprehension and shot it out with the police.
Authorities recovered from the two slain suspects caliber .45, cal .38 hand guns, and sachets of suspected shabu.
Meanwhile, the stolen car is now under the custody of the Malolos HPG-3 headquarters. —LBG, GMA News
