Man caught stealing from church donation box

CCTV cameras caught a man stealing from the donation box of a church in Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur.

As seen in a report Thursday on Unang Balita, the 23-year-old man was seen lighting a candle right outside the Sto. Nino Cathedral Parish before entering the church proper.

The man took the candle inside and made a beeline for the donation box behind the statue of the Virgin Mary.

He was next seen exiting the parish with the P1,200 cash donation from the box.

Police were able to catch the suspect before he could make it far as church minders witnessed the crime transpire on CCTV. —Rie Takumi/KG, GMA News
