Huge fire hits Cebu City residential area; 6 reported missing

Six people, including two children, were reported missing as huge fire hit a residential area in Cebu City on Monday morning.

A Super Radyo dzBB report said the local fire bureau received a call about the fire in Barangay Ermita at around 5:46 a.m.

The fire was declared under Task Force Bravo at 7:11 a.m. and still rages as of this posting.

A video shared by Philip Alvarez to YouScoop showed thick smoke billowing from the area hit by the blaze.

The report said firefighters could not immediately penetrate the area hit by the fire because its streets were too narrow.

The city fire bureau said firefighters are also looking for six people, whose identities have yet to be released by authorities. —ALG, GMA News
