A passenger ferry ran aground on Saturday at a port in Bohol amid harsh weather from the southwest monsoon enhanced by Tropical Storm Domeng.
A report on "Balitanghali" said that MV Lite Ferry 12 was about to dock at Tarbilaran City's port when big waves and strong winds caused the ship to go out of control and break into the pier's pavement.
Philippine Ports Authority officials in Tagbilaran said the ship's bow was damaged when it plowed through a portion of the pier before running aground.
Authorities said the ship had 60 passengers, some, including a pregnant woman, suffered minor injuries from the impact of the crash.
The incident, however, did not affect the operations of the Tagbilaran port. —LBG, GMA News
