300 houses affected by fire in Bacoor City

About 300 houses were affected by the fire that hit a residential area in Barangay Maliksi, Bacoor City in Cavite Wednesday evening, Mav Gonzales reported on Saksi.

The fire spread rapidly as most of the houses in the area were made of light materials as well as the strong winds.

Authorities, meanwhile, are still investigating the cause of the fire.

About 500 families were affected by the fire, and they are at the Maliksi Elementary School, which serves as a temporary evacuation center.

"May sumabog na lang tpaos sobrang lakas na ng apoy, Nagtakbuhan na 'yung mga tao, nag-panic na," Rossana Boldadora, a resident, related.

Fire Senior Inspector Alyster Castro, Bacoor City fire marshal, said "Dikit-dikit po, Ma'am, at mahirap po talag pasukin po. 'Yung concentration po kasi ng sunog, nandu'n po sa ilog po nakatirik 'yung mga bahay. Mahirap pong i-access ng mga kabumberuhan natin." — BAP, GMA News
