Two AUVs that left a nearby cemetery after Tanauan City Mayor Antonio Halili was fatally shot on city hall grounds on Monday are now the subject of police investigation.

According to Ian Cruz's report on "24 Oras", CCTV in the area caught on video the two vehicles that even passed in front of city hall before making their way to the Star Toll highway.

One of the AUVs  had a conduction sticker that according to the Land Transportation Office belonged to another vehicle.

The other had the license plate AHO 3044, which had no record with the LTO.

A source told GMA News that it took some time for the vehicles to leave the cemetery.

The source surmised the gunman had to make his way through 200 meters of tall grass and brush to reach his escape vehicle.

Investigators earlier said the assassin could have shot Halili from a clearing in the grassy hill just outside the city hall grounds.

The gunman could have used a high-powered rifle to fire the 5.56-caliber bullet that hit and killed Halili.

The authorities are looking at three suspects and three possible motives. —NB, GMA News
