Electrical problem eyed in Nueva Ecija school fire
Fire investigators in Nueva Ecija are looking initially at a possible electrical problem that could have caused the fire at an elementary school building in Pantabangan town early Monday morning. "There are no indicators that somebody went inside the school building. There is no evidence gathered so far of materials used in setting fire like gasoline," said Senior Superintendent Agripino Javier, provincial police director. "The Bureau of Fire is now investigating the incident and their initial angle is possible overloading of electricity. Although this is not yet final," Javier said. About 4 a.m. Monday, fire struck a six-classroom building of the Tanauan Elementary School in Pantabangan town. Javier said the incident did not affect the voting process in the area. The voting activity was just transferred to another classroom. "It is very quiet here in the province. At least, the reputation now of Nueva Ecija is changed because we only have one incident compared to previous elections," Javier said. -GMANews.TV
