The torrential rain that flooded a Church in Bulacan did not stop a couple from becoming man and wife on Saturday morning.

According to a report on GMA 7 news program "24 Oras Weekend", Jobel Delos Angeles was still a vision in white as she walked down the aisle albeit in murky flood waters to marry her partner of seven years.

According to the groom, the barefoot guests also witnessed the christening of the couple's baby girl, the couple's second child.

"Even if it floods or it rains, nothing can stop me. You only get married once, will you postpone it? I was marrying the man I love," Delos Angeles told Agence France-Presse by phone.

"My gown got wet and heavy but I told myself it was as if I was walking on a red carpet."

According to AFP, the couple did not consider postponing the ceremony even as floodwaters invaded the town.

"We didn't want a new schedule as we were already stressed out. Our hometown is really flood-prone," Delos Angeles said.

"No car wanted to bring us to the church so I just rode a boat. We didn't expect so many people would still turn up, even the entourage." — Margaret Claire Layug/with a report from Agence-France-Presse/DVM/BM, GMA News
