A Chinese research vessel docked at the Sasa Wharf in Davao City on Friday morning, according to a report of RTV One Mindanao.

The 225-meter-long MV Yuan arrived in Davao City at 7 a.m. to conduct a goodwill visit and replenish supplies, according to an agent from the vessel, who refused to be interviewed in front of the camera.

The passengers of the vessel disembarked and boarded four buses for a tour of the city.

An immigration officer was at the site to process the documents of the crew.

A permit was reportedly issued by the Department of Foreign Affairs, which allowed the vessel to dock in Davao City.

MV Yuan will stay at the port for four days.

The details on the research work of the crew members were not available as of posting time.

In July, a Chinese vessel also docked in Davao to replenish supplies.

Two Chinese aircraft also landed separately at the Davao International Airport in June. —BAP/KG, GMA News
