Lanao SK chair dies of electrocution at his own victory party

A newly-elected Sangguniang Kabataan chairman of Barangay Punod in Pantar, Lanao del Norte died of electrocution Thursday afternoon while celebrating his victory with family and friends at a beach resort. Police Inspector Karim Marampan said 17-year-old Musaab Wahab Faisal was wet from swimming as he leaned on an electric post with an open live wire, causing his body to be thrown meters away. When brought to a hospital in Iligan, Faisal was already declared dead on arrival. Roberto Picardal, owner of Adam and Eve Beach Resort in Barangay Samburon, Linamon town said Faisal’s group insisted on getting into the property for the victory party even after they were turned away because the resort was no longer operational. The group however insisted, bringing in video karaoke. A witness said one of Faisal’s companions detached an electrical tape that covered a wire connection in a cottage. Faisal happened to lean on the post connected to that wire. - GMANews.TV
