SLEX, Skyway, NAIAX, STAR, TPLEX ready for Undas
Five road networks have been readied for the expected heavy volume of vehicles for All Saints' Day (Undas) next week.
In a statement issued on Friday, SMC Tollways said the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), Skyway, NAIA Expressway (NAIAX), Southern Tagalog Arterial Road (STAR) Tollway, and the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX) are ready for the expected heavy volume of vehicles starting October 31 until November 5.
Under Oplan Undas 2018, the company will deploy additional traffic and security personnel as well as ambulant tellers at toll plazas beginning the afternoon of October 31 until November 5.
Filipinos are expected to troop to their home provinces beginning October 31 to observe All Saints' Day and visit the tombs of their loved ones, and head back to Metro Manila on or before November 5.
The company said it will also set up roadmap stations at strategic locations along the road networks to assist motorists and provide them with travel information.
Motorists were also given the assurance that emergency medical providers and accredited towing services will be available.
SMC Tollways advised motorists to plan their trips, ensure their vehicles are in excellent running condition, stay alert, observe and obey traffic and safety rules including speed limits, and to have exact toll fees on hand for faster time at toll plazas.
