Deranged man kills mother, boils body parts

A 71-year old woman was killed by her own son, who has a mental condition, in Pigcawayan in North Cotabato, according to a report on Saksi.

The man then chopped the body of his mother into several pieces and boiled them in their kitchen. Responding police personnel saw some body parts still inside pots. It was also believed that the suspect ate some of the items that he cooked.

Initial investigation showed that the crime was committed when the victim released the suspect from being chained inside the house.

The suspect was kept in the house because he is believed to be deranged as a result of his addiction to illegal drugs.

Pigcawayan Police Deputy Chief Senior Inspector Basilio Parcon said the suspect was brought to the rehabilitation center in the past and would return to his home where he would seem to have been healed. But he would then act up again after some time.

A close friend, and the only person the suspect talks to, said the attack may have occurred because the suspect was hungry.

When the said friend asked the suspect about the crime, "Wala, 'di niya maalala."

The suspect is in jail, in a facility separate from the other inmates. Police officials recommended that the suspect should undergo a medical check up. — BAP, GMA News
