The parents of the three-year-old victim in the rockslide in Bulacan are grieving over the loss of their son while remembering him as "makulit" and "madaldal," according to a report of Darlene Cay on GMA News' Unang Balita on Tuesday.

“Makulit po siya, madaldal. 'Yung paglalambing niya 'pag umaalis. Ibili daw siya ng baril. Kung anong maisip niya na laruan na ipabili sa akin,” the victim's mother, Arlyn Dorimon, said of her son Aldin.

On Saturday, huge rocks fell on their house in Barangay San Jose Patag in Sta. Maria, claiming the boy's life. Two other persons, Aldin’s grandmother and cousin, were injured.

“Naisipan ko po na maglinis ng motor. Doon ko po pinatulog ulit 'yung anak ko kasi nagpapagaling po 'yung anak ko e. Paglabas ko, mga sampung minuto siguro, doon gumuho,” the victim's father, Leonard Dorimon, said.

“Unang kita ko doon sa taas, akala ko ano lang, puno. 'Di ko pa alam na ang sumunod doon, bato na pala. Parang nilaglag po sa bahay,’ he continued.

Due to the size of the rocks, it took 12 hours to clear them off the house and recover the body of the boy.

The accident area was a hilltop with cracks around it, which are being speculated to be the cause of the rockslide.

Also, the said place was a quarry 30 years ago.

This was the first rockslide reported in the area.

Authorities have been monitoring the area where 20 to 30 families are still residing.

“Nakakatakot din po pero nasanay na rin. May kaba man po, kailangang lakasan ang loob dahil ito lang ang aming bahay,” a resident said.

“Ayun na nga po, nasama na kami sa kaba bago pa mangyari pa ulit ang sakuna,” another resident said.

On Monday, the local government inspected the area and according to the recommendation of a geologist, the residents should be advised for preemptive evacuation.

According to the local government, the residents were set to leave their homes this week. —Joviland Rita/KG, GMA News
