Barangay captain in Batangas killed in early morning gun attack

A barangay chairman was killed in shooting incident attack in Batangas early Saturday morning, police said.

Citing a police report, Super Radyo dzBB's Jonathan Andal identified the victim as Eduardo Panganiban, 59, of Barangay Panghayaan of Taysan town.

An initial police investigation showed Panganiban was shot by three suspects at about 7 a.m. while he was at the garage of his house.

Panganiban was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead shortly after arrival.

Taysan authorities are still investigating the motive for the attack and are tracking down the suspects. —LBG, GMA News
