DOT: Accredited establishments in Boracay now 296

The number of accredited accommodation establishments in Boracay island has reached 296, according to the Department of Tourism (DOT).

As of December 31, 2018, a total of 10,467 rooms are allowed to accommodate tourists visiting the popular tourist destination, which underwent months-long rehabilitation last year.

Boracay reopened to local and foreign tourists in October 2018 after being closed for six months for intensive rehabilitation.

The DOT has since limited tourist arrivals on the island to 6,405 per day. —Anna Felicia Bajo/KBK, GMA News
