Schoolmates assault Ilocos Norte Grade 10 student

A Paoay, Ilocos Norte Grade 10 student was assaulted his schoolmates and left prostrate on the street, GMA 7 news program "24 Oras Weekend" reported on Sunday.

The victim was ganged up on by four other Grade 10 students who kicked and punched multiple times.

The victim received a strong kick in the head which left him lying helpless on the roadside.

Another student came to the victim's rescue, helped the victim up, and brought him to hospital.

The victim was later discharged from hospital.

Local police have looked into the assault and was coordinating with the school's guidance counselor.

"Wala namang away 'yung dalawa pero base sa imbestigasyon ko, dahil sa babae," said PO3 Virginia De Mesa of the Paoay Police .

"Kung sa school pa ay maaayos na, baka bibibgyan ng disciplinary action 'yung mga bata," she added

The victim's family had not filed any charges against the the attackers,  all of whom were 15-year-olds. — Dona Magsino/DVM, GMA News
