Cops identify persons of interest in death of teen at Sinulog party
The police have identified persons of interest over the death of a 19-year-old Ashley Abad who died after attending a concert party during the Sinulog Festival in Cebu, according to a report on "24 Oras" by JP Soriano on Saturday.
The police, however, declined to identify the individuals pending the outcome of the investigation.
"According sa investigation, may persons of interest na po. Meron na pero hindi muna ibibigay 'yung pangalan kasi kinailangan munang buuin 'yung investigation," Superindendent Ma. Aurora Rayos, chief of the Public Information Office of the Region 7 police.
"Kung sino man 'yung witnesses, dapat cooperative na sila para ma-solve na kaagad ang case," she added.
However, it has yet to be determined whether the persons of interest are among the party-goers seen in the clip.
The victim allegedly ingested party drugs when she attended the Sinulog party last Saturday.
Her family said medical records showed that she suffered from a cardiac arrest due to drug overdose, but it has yet to be confirmed.
Her remains will undergo autopsy.
