Flight instructor, student survive crash in Nueva Ecija

A training plane plunged in a rice field at Barangay Homestead 2 in Talavera, Nueva Ecija Monday morning, according to a report of Balita Pilipinas Ngayon.

According to residents, the plane flew in circles before it hit the ground.

Personnel from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Talavera’s Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and police immediately responded.

Personnel from the Philippine Army also came to the area and shut down the plane.

Meanwhile, flight instructor Boni Sorgon and student Maria Thalia Zeth Limpin who were aboard the plane survived the crash.

Investigators are looking into engine failure as one of the possible causes of the incident. —Joviland Rita/ LDF, GMA News
