4 dead, 2 hurt after gun attack at wake in Quezon province —police
Four people were killed and two others wounded in an attack at a wake in Infanta town in Quezon province on Wednesday evening.
Infanta police reported that the incident took place in Barangay Ilog at about 8:50 p.m., and identified the victims (both the four fatalities and the wounded) as:
- Herman Cuento y Ruidera, 70;
- Leon Turgo Cuento, 73;
- Manuel Avellaneda Cuerdo, 41;
- Michael Nuza Cuento, 50;
- Maximo Junio Cuento, 65; and
- Napoleon Penamante Miras, 68.
While they were at a wake, an assailant armed with a caliber .45 handgun barged in, opened fire at the victims, and fled to unknown direction, the Infanta police said.


All six victims were rushed to the Claro M. Recto Memorial District Hospital, but four of them were declared dead on arrival, while the two others, who only suffered minor injuries, are now in stable condition.
Responding police operatives immediately launched a pursuit operation after they were informed of the incident. —LBG, GMA News
