9-year-old allegedly gang-raped by 6 suspects, including a relative

A 9-year-old girl from Argao town in Cebu province told her parents that she was gang-raped by six construction workers, according to the report of Mariz Umali on Saksi on Wednesday.

The victim said the suspects brought her to a remote area where she was raped.

The police nabbed four of the six suspects, one of which is a minor.

The anguish of the victim's father was worsened after he learned that one of the suspects is a relative, an uncle.

The relative did not deny that he raped the child. He also admitted that he has been raping his niece since last year.

The two other suspects deny the accusation.

The victim is currently in the custody of the Department of Social Welfare and Development as the police continue their search for the other rape suspects. — BAP, GMA News
