Man dies while fixing roof amid hot weather in Pangasinan
Amid the extreme hot weather, a man in San Carlos City, Pangasinan died while installing gutters on the roof of a house, according to a report of Katrina Son on GMA News’ "Balita Pilipinas Ngayon."
Benedicto Apostol Jr., 55-year old, was working with his friend Jerry Macam around 10 a.m. when Apostol asked for a glass of water in the middle of the construction.
After drinking the water, Apostol became unresponsive.
"’Pare, pare’, sabi ko. Tinapik ko pa siya ilang beses. E hindi na gumagalaw. Maya-maya, biglang nahulog na," Macam said.
The 50-year old was rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. According to the doctor, Apostol died of heart attack, one of his relatives said Rolando Ambanloc said.
Heath authorities again reminded the public to be more cautious and avoid long exposure to the sun. The hottest period of the day was usually felt between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
