Zero casualty in Zambales town, epicenter of Luzon quake
There were no casualties reported in the municipality of Castillejos, Zambales, the epicenter of the 6.1 earthquake which hit Luzon on Monday afternoon.
In an interview with Mayor Jose Angelo Dominguez of Castillejos, Zambales aired over “24 Oras” on Monday night, Domingues said that they have been fine even as they remain scared due to the earthquake.
“Sa puntong ito, okay naman kami. Based on reports from different barangays and the hospitals, wala naman earhtquake-related injuries and casualties so far,” Dominguez said.
“Habang lumilindol, I was in one baranagay. Kinausap ko ang mga tao [pagtapos ng lindol], meron lang ilang ninerbiyos, natumba ng onti, nahulog ang gamit mula sa estante, sa lamesa, pero walang nabasag o ano mang damaging [na nangyari],” he added.
The mayor then asked for more prayers as pending complete report on the damages caused by the earthquake.
“Ipagpatuloy po natin ang pagdarasal kasi kakaiba talaga ang experience namin kanina. Magpasalamat tayo sa Panginoon," Dominguez said.
"Bagamat tayo ang epicenter, walang report of any casualty or damages sa properties and lives ng mga tao. Kung meron man aftershocks, 'yung earthquake drill na lagi nating ginagawa, isaisip natin at gawin nation,” he added.
The local official assured his constituents that equipment and personnel for emergency response were all in place.
“Andito kami, fire rescue, pulis, naka-standby kaming lahat,” Dominguez said. —NB, GMA News
