No reported casualties in San Julian, Eastern Samar after quake — local exec
There are no reported casualties so far in San Julian, Eastern Samar where the epicenter of the magnitude 6.5 earthquake was recorded on Tuesday.
An old church has been damaged and some roads in the town had cracks, according to municipal engineer Liza Gereña during an interview on GMA News TV's Balita Pilipinas Ngayon.
She added that some school buildings had minor cracks on the walls.
Local authorities are doing inspections in the community to further assess the damage.
Meanwhile, some residential structures in Catbalogan City were slightly damaged. One senior citizen was injured after being hit by debris, according to Mayor Archie Fuentes.
A power outage was experienced in Calbayog City.
At least two vehicles got involved in an accident in the town of Marabut due to the shaking of the ground, according to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office in a separate interview. — Dona Magsino/RSJ, GMA News
