The National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) is set to implement rotational brownouts in some areas of Luzon amid the yellow and red alerts raised due to depleting reserves.
In an advisory, NGCP said it may implement manual load dropping (MLD) in the following areas from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. to "maintain the integrity of the power system":
- Ilocos Sur Electric Cooperative (parts of Ilocos Sur)

- Pampanga Rural Electric Cooperative and Pampanga Electric Cooperative I (parts of Pampanga)

- Batangas Electric Cooperative II, First Bay Power Corp., Ibaan Electric (parts of Batangas)
- Camarines Sur Electric Cooperative II (parts of Camarines Sur)
- Manila Electric Co. (parts of Metro Manila)
An MLD is defined as the process of cutting off power in areas served at a specific time due to power supply shortage.
