Raps filed vs. 8 suspects in murder of Nueva Ecija town mayor Ferdinand Bote

The Department of Justice found enough basis to file raps against eight suspects in the slay of Ferdinand Bote, former mayor of General Tinio, Nueva Ecija, according to a report on GMA News TV's Balitanghali on Saturday.

A warrant of arrest is expected to be issued soon against contractor Christian Saquilabon, alleged gunmen Florencio Suarez and Roberto Gumatay, spotter Junjun Fajardo, and eight others.

The Bote family has already received a copy of the DOJ resolution.

In July 2018, Bote was aboard his vehicle on his way out of the National Irrigation Administration office in Cabanatuan City when he was gunned down by motorcycle-riding suspects.

Investigation showed that a quarrel about a project in General Tinio may have led the alleged mastermind to plot the murder.

The alleged mastermind, according to the alleged gunmen, is Saquilabon.

The suspects have not issued any comment yet regarding the DOJ resolution. —KG, GMA News
