Garbage problem hits 17 Bulacan towns
At least 17 towns in Bulacan have been beset with growing piles of garbage that have remained uncollected for over two weeks.
According to Katrina Son's report on Balitanghali on Monday, garbage trucks have not been collecting the trash because they are unable to dispose of it after a portion of the road to the Wacumen Sanitary Landfill in San Jose del Monte collapsed on May 24.
As a result, the piles of garbage have been spotted fronting houses, the marketplace, and alongside the highway.
Barangay chairman Narciso dela Cruz appealed to his constituents to work together to keep their surroundings clean and segregate their trash so that dogs won't mess it up.
The Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Region 3 office is set to meet to resolve the garbage situation.
