Cops kill drug suspect in Laguna buy-bust operation

A suspected drug pusher was killed in a buy bust operation in Biñan, Laguna, a Balitanghali report said Sunday.

Authorities identified the slain suspect as Angelio Pabillo Villafania, who was on the watch list of the police in the area.

According to the report, a poseur-buyer was able to buy illegal substance from Villafania, but when the police were about to arrest him, he allegedly fired at the cops, prompting them to fire back.

Recovered from the suspect were 16 sachets of suspect shabu, several drug paraphernalia and a handgun.

Meanwhile, three other drug personalities were nabbed in separate buy bust operations in Makati City and Zamboanga City.

Arrested in Makati City were Warrick Lemuel Tan Ngo and John Ivan Santiago Breva, from which 14 sachets of suspected shabu, a sachet of marijuana and several drug paraphernalia were recovered.

Both of them are facing charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

In Zamboanga City, a drug suspect named Torralba Nurhassan Akquiatan was also arrested in a buy bust operation.

Recovered from him was a P200 worth of illegal drugs.

Akquiatan denied pushing drugs, saying he was only a courier. —Erwin Colcol/LBG, GMA News
