Classmates of slain Grade 7 student undergo debriefing

The classmates of slain Grade 7 student Marc Anthony Miranda were made to undergo psychological debriefing after they witnessed him being shot inside their classroom last week.

According to a report by Jun Veneracion in GMA News TV's Balitanghali on Tuesday, the class has already been transferred to another room.

Some of the students who witnessed the crime told their teacher that the suspect Renan Estrope Valderrama pointed the gun at some of them to make them move away from Miranda.

They claimed that the gunman pulled the trigger twice but it did not fire. It was only on his third attempt that he was able to shoot the victim in the head.

To help the students recover from the incident, school authorities have decided to temporarily close the said classroom. It will also be repainted and redecorated.

Valderrama who works as a security guard was arrested by police in Pansol, Laguna on Tuesday morning.

The police said that he admitted killing Miranda out of jealousy.

Prior to the shooting incident, Miranda filed a sexual abuse complaint against Valderrama whom he lived with under the same roof for a few months. — Dona Magsino/MDM, GMA News
