Ilocos Norte Electric Cooperative linemen die from electrocution

Two linemen of the Ilocos Norte Electric Cooperative were killed over the weekend after being electrocuted while doing repairs.

According to a Sunday report on GMA 7 news program "24 Oras Weekend", the two linemen — identified as Talyo Portela and Malcon Domion — were completing repairs at around 6 p.m. on Saturday when they were electrocuted.

They were immediately brought to a nearby hospital, where they were declared dead on arrival.

GMA News has sought comment from the Ilocos Norte Electric Cooperative, but their information officer was unavailable for comment.

Meanwhile, local police said that the cooperative had declined to comment on the matter as an internal investigation was currently underway. — Jon Viktor Cabuenas/DVM, GMA News
