2 killed, P6.8M worth of suspected shabu seized in Bohol buy-bust

A total of 6.8 million worth of suspected shabu were seized Sunday morning during an anti-illegal drugs operation in Clarin town, Bohol, which also resulted in the death of two suspects.

Combined elements of the Regional Special Operations Group in Central Visayas (RSOG-7), Bohol Provincial Police Office (BPPO), Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB), Clarin Police Station and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) conducted the buy-bust operation at past 11 a.m. on Sunday, September 1, in the house of Esterio Quiño in Barangay Bacani in Clarin town.

The police said drug suspects Quiño and Isagani Cañete fought it out when they felt that they were transacting with policemen.

One of them shot the undercover agent. The agent fired shots at the suspects that resulted in their deaths.

Quiño and  Cañete were identified as high value targets in the provincial level. They got their supply from Cebu.

Seized from the  slain suspects were packs of suspected shabu  with estimated value of P6.8 million,  marked  bills, two guns and ammunition. 

According to the BPPO,  the suspects had been the subject of illegal drugs operation who supplied shabu in most towns of Bohol.

Also arrested during the operation were Ericson Redulla, 28; Victor Quiño, 58;  Joseph Cañete, 33; and Arnel Lauron, 20, all residents of Barangay Bacani in Clarin town, who were caught having a pot session inside the  house of Quiño.

They will charged with violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.  — BAP, GMA News
