Residents in flood-hit Hermosa, Bataan appeal for food
Residents in flood-hit areas in Hermosa town in Bataan have continued to appeal for assistance, especially food items, even after floods spawned by rains from the Southwest Monsoon began to subside on Wednesday.
“Unang Balita” reported that in some barangays floodwaters were still waist-deep.
A resident said what they most need now is food. "Pagkain po pang araw-araw po. Wala pong hanap-buhay kapag tag-ulan eh."
In appealing for food aid, another resident said, "kahit po sana relief goods, malaking tulong na po iyon..."
Also, residents appealed to authorities for the immediate repair of the breached dike and bridge in their area.
Hermosa barangays that are badly affected by floods include Daungan, Almacen, Pulo, and Bacong.
Meanwhile, in a post on his Facebook page, Hermosa Mayor Antonio Joseph Inton announced that classes in all levels were to resume on Wednesday, except in the Pulo Elementary School, Almacen Elem. School, and Bacong Elem. School due to flooded roads. —LBG, GMA News
