Ex-Gov. Amado Espino hurt in Pangasinan ambush
Former Pangasinan Governor Amado Espino Jr. was ambushed on Wednesday afternoon, initial reports reaching Camp Crame showed.
Information from the Police Regional Office 1 showed Espino was on board his vehicle when he was shot by a still unidentified suspect in Barangay Magtaking, San Carlos City, Pangasinan at 4:30 p.m.
Espino, who's also a former congressman, sustained injuries and was brought to a hospital in the city.
"Personnel of San Carlos CPS are now conducting dragnet operation for the possible identification and arrest of the suspect/s. Investigation still ongoing," the initial police report said.
The victims were all riding a Toyota Inova van with no back-up. This is completely unacceptable in this day and age, yet it happens with impunity. The police should be able to track down the perpetrators if they act fast. pic.twitter.com/o27ChdZYlB

Gordon said the Espino's group was on board an Innova without any security back-up.
"This is completely unacceptable... The police should be able to track down the perpetrators if they ask fast," Gordon said.
"I call on PNP chief [Director General Oscar] Albayalde to mobilize all police forces to track down the killers and bring them to justice," he added. —NB, GMA News
