Six people were hurt after a carnival ride malfunctioned in Albay's Legaspi City, according to a Sunday "News TV Live" bulletin.

The incident happened past 9 p.m. on Saturday, October 12 when a screw fell out of the Spinning Swing ride.

The operator was reportedly about to shut down the ride, which was when it malfunctioned.

The victims, including minors aged 8, 9, and 13, were all brought to the hospital and were said to be recuperating.

The carnival operator has since pledged to pay for all the hospitalization fees of the victims. — Jon Viktor Cabuenas/DVM, GMA News
