9 people killed in Camarines Sur bus-van smashup

Nine people were killed in a bus-UV Express van collision in Camarines Sur province in the Bicol region on Thursday.

Citing police information, GMA News' Balitanghali reported that the van was in total wreck, with its roof and one side torn apart on impact.

An initial police investigation showed that the UV Express was headed to Naga City from Camarines Sur and the bus was Manila-bound when the collision occurred on the highway in Barangay San Vicente in Pamplona town.

All the nine fatalities were from the van, including the driver. Four passengers on the bus were reported hurt in the incident.

The bus driver surrendered to the Pamplona Police right after the collision. An investigation into the incident is ongoing. —LBG, GMA News
