DENR tears down 10 non-compliant Boracay establishments
At least 10 establishments in Boracay Island were demolished after failing to comply with some requirements, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) said on Thursday.
The DENR Western Visayas posted several videos on Facebook showing the actual demolition of the non-compliant establishments at the Bolabog Beach area.
According to the DENR, these establishments were previously protected by a temporary restarting order, which has now expired.
In October last year, the world-renowned tourist destination reopened to local and foreign tourists after it was closed by the government for a six-month environmental rehabilitation.
GMA News Online has reached out to DENR Western Visayas for more details about the demolition, but has yet to receive a response. —LDF, GMA News
