DepEd investigates alleged porn showing by teacher in Iloilo


 

The Department of Education (DepEd) in Iloilo is investigating an incident in which a teacher showed his Grade 10 students a pornographic video supposedly as part of sex education, James Agustin reported on Saksi.

Population growth and unwanted teenage pregnancy are among the issues that has to be addressed through sex education.

However, a teacher at the Pili National High SChool in Ajuy town, Iloilo opted to show a pornographic video. The incident was confirmed by students who were present during the film showing.

The incident has reached Ajuy, Iloilo Mayor Jett Rojas, who expressed concern over the teacher's method.

A GMA Regional News Team went to the school but no one seems to know the whereabouts of the teacher. The principal was also not at the compound.

Rojas, meanwhile, talked to Pili National High School officials who upheld that the video in question was part of the sex education curriculum.

The mayor asked DepEd to investigate and provide guidance to the teachers on the implementation of sex education. —BAP, GMA News
