Several people hurt as cement mixer truck crashes into vehicles on Cotabato bridge

COTABATO CITY - Several people were injured after a cement mixer truck lost its brakes and crashed into vehicles on Tamontaka Bridge in Cotabato on Saturday morning.

The number of injured is still being determined as of posting time.

They were rushed to different hospitals for immediate treatment.

No fatalities were reported.

The driver said he lost control of the brakes.

He then pressed on the horn loudly to warn other vehicles.

The vehicles were sideswiped onto the side of the bridge.

A passer-by, Datu Fahad Lauban, took photos and said the truck stopped 300 meters from the bridge.

The accident closed off the main road connecting Maguindanao and Cotabato City. 

The driver is now under the custody of Precinct 3 of Cotabato Police. —KG, GMA News
