Ashfall results in high water demand in Tagaytay —official
The water supply in Tagaytay City has already been restored but its normal distribution is being hampered by high demands as residents face the aftermath of the ashfall from Taal Volcano, according to the local government.
Yayong said water rationing in areas affected by the disrupted water service is still ongoing.
"Siguro kapag 'yung demand ng paglilinis at saka 'yung mga pangangailangan ng tubig huhupa, siguro at that point ma-normalize po 'yung distribution ng water," he added.
The power supply in the city has likewise been restored.
Classes in schools in the city are set to resume, more than a week after Taal Volcano's initial eruption on January 12. Some business establishments have also been allowed by the local government to reopen, as long as these are outside the 14-kilometer danger zone.
Alert Level 4 remains over Taal Volcano and eight barangays in Tagaytay were advised to evacuate due to risks that may be posed by a hazardous eruption which may occur within hours to days. —KBK, GMA News
