Cebu remains ASF-free as demand for local lechon stays high
The province of Cebu remains untouched by the African Swine Fever (ASF) in the country, according to a report on GMA News' Unang Hirit on Tuesday.
As a result, demand for the Cebu Lechon remains high, the report added.
Formerly priced at P300 to P400, prices have increased since the province tightened its security against the ASF, according to the report.
As of Sunday, Camarines Sur, Benguet, Kalinga, and Quirino remain positive for ASF, according to the Department of Agriculture (DA).
The DA confirmed the presence of the ASF in the Philippines in September last year. — Joahna Lei Casilao/MDM, GMA News
